Parents,
I hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend! We are back and ready to go for a short week! This week: We will have a history quiz tomorrow. It will be another quick review on the first three lessons. If your scholar has been completing their nightly summary of two sentences or more in their journal, they will be in great shape! Thank you to all the parents who brought in their 2B Singapore Workbook so quickly last week. If you have not done so yet, please do that as soon as possible as your scholar's homework grade depends on it. If there is a problem obtaining one, please let me know. We are continuing our studies of mental math addition strategies and will have a quiz on Friday. Student must solve these problems mentally, meaning without writing anything down. We are continuing to read our new literature book, Cricket in Times Square. Students will have a quiz tomorrow on the first three chapters. This book will be open book for students to utilize on every question. There are only 20 spelling words due to the short week. Please continue to study phonograms with your child each night if they are not able to identify all 70 without error. Please let me know if you have any questions. Parents,
Thank you for all your hard work with your scholars during project week. Everyone's project was so creative, and we had a fun day exploring everyone's project on Friday. This week: - January 14th is project night!
- If you have not brought in a 2B Singapore Workbook, please do that as soon as possible or be sure to let me know if there is a problem obtaining this item. Your scholar's homework grade depends on bringing this workbook home and back to school each day. - We will begin Cricket in Times Square tomorrow! I love beginning new literature books. Please be sure to send this book in with your scholar as well if you have not already done so. - There will be a final math test on multiplication and division on Tuesday, and then we will review and go deeper in our studies of addition and subtraction, including equations with missing numbers. If you have any questions, please let me know. I look forward to the third quarter with your scholar. Parents,
I hope everyone had a wonderful Winter break and are ready for the New Year! I’m excited to be back as Mrs. Bennett! For the coming week, we are starting the year out with some exciting events!
