Dear Parents, What another fantastic week of school! I enjoyed getting to know each student even more. I was able to have each student read to me individually, which is always a treat. I love the enthusiasm they have each time I say it is time to open up Charlotte’s Web. Next week, we will have Galileo testing on Tuesday and Thursday. Math testing is on Tuesday, and English Language Arts is on Thursday. Please make sure your scholar gets plenty of rest and a healthy breakfast the morning of these days in particular. We will encourage our scholars not to stress but just try their absolute best on these tests. As a reminder, we also do not have school on Friday. There has been much discussion concerning the consumable book list. Many of you have already sent in every book we will need this year, and they are safe and sound on my bookshelf. I know many of the books are still in transit to families, so please send those in to class as soon as you receive them. If you have any problems obtaining any of these books, please let me know as soon as possible. On Tuesday, we will also be having our first history quiz. The students have been studying geography and specifically landforms. Ask your scholar this weekend to sing one of the songs they have learned! A study guide will be given to prepare students for their first formal grade. Be on the lookout every night for a red homework folder and agenda. The folder and assignments will be inside daily. We also ask that you sign the bottom of the agenda every night, so we know you are aware of the homework they should be completing. I would also like to remind you that students may bring one small and healthy snack to have at recess. We encourage this as well as sending each student to school with a water bottle. Lastly, please be sure to visit the classroom blog. It is updated weekly with the newsletter, homework, spelling words, a wish list, and the occasional class trip information. The link is: msgaabsclass.weebly.com. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to email me at [email protected]. I am looking forward to another great week! Warmly, Jamie Gaab
