Parents, Last week was a busy one, filled with learning, adventures, and fun! Our scholars had a wonderful time learning about desert life cycles on our field trip. We continued the fun on field day getting to see everyone participate in our Olympics, and of course, ride down the new addition of the water slide! Here is a look at the week ahead! Math- We will start our unit on TIME. Students will learn to tell time after the hour and before the hour. We will focus on using clocks in our math groups so that each student can practice moving the hands around the clock to show time. There will not be a quiz this week. History- We will continue to study the Civil War. This week we will focus on the abolitionists and what happened after the war. There will be a unit test on Thursday. Friday we will start a new unit on immigration. Literature- We will finish reading The Magician's Nephew. The students have enjoyed this book and the adventures of Digory and Polly. It has set them up beautifully for the story of The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe, which they will read in third grade! Please let me know if you have any questions! Mrs. Bennett
